Maine Inmate Search

The Department of Corrections is not only responsible for every inmate in Maine but also for keeping and maintaining all criminal records for the state. The department has developed a search tool that allows the public at large to search and identify inmates' criminal records and their custody whereabouts.

The Department of Corrections gathers important inmate details from the arrest records, local law enforcement, the courts, and confinement facilities. The information is now made available to anybody that wants it. However, not all inmate data is open to the public; certain restrictions are placed to seal some information unless it is crucial to an ongoing investigation.

How to Search for Inmates in Maine

For a Maine Offender Lookup, visit The Main Department of Corrections (DOC) website and look for the prisoner search tool, Adult prisoner and probationer search service. You will be required to provide the inmate's MDOC number or name. Additional data like the inmate's gender, age, weight, height, eye and hair colour, race, the crime they committed, and the location where they are being held will make the search results more accurate.

After providing the system with inmate's information on the adult inmate search form, it will produce an Inmate Roster of offenders' names, mug shots, MDOC numbers, date of birth, race, gender, parole date, and current location.

Click on the MDOC number to view detailed data concerning the inmate. The provided information will include convictions, sentencing, court docket number, and the court.

You can use the Main Department of Corrections (DOC) website to search for information on both the Maine State Prison and Maine County Jail. However, the County jails are under the jurisdiction of the county sheriff's office. Therefore, searching for the inmate data may differ depending on the county where the inmate has been locked up.

Searching for the Detainee in the Custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement

To successfully search for an immigrant detainee in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, you will have to visit The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) website. The system is installed with an online detainee locator tool that records all detainees within 60 days.

You will need their names and alien registration number. The alien registration number should have nine digits; suppose the number has eight digits, type in the number with a zero at the beginning. The online detainee system is only designed to retain details of offenders that are currently being detained and those whose release has not exceeded the past 60 days.

Immigration And Customs Enforcement is a federal facility responsible for protecting America from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration, which could pose serious danger to national security.

Searching for an inmate using Maine Sex Offender Registry

To search for an inmate sentenced for a sex offense in Maine, you will have to visit the Maine Sex Offender Registry website. However, the system will not contain individuals sentenced for a qualifying offense. To access records of sex offenders who are not within Maine State, you will have to visit the national sex offender registry (NSOR) website.

Maine Inmate Roster

Inmate rosters are records containing detailed information about an inmate in any correctional facility in Maine. The information on the site belongs to inmates in Maine state jails or prisons. According to the Maine Freedom of Information Act, information about inmates should be made available to those interested in the status of the inmates currently incarcerated within the corrections system. The information on the Maine Inmate Roster includes names, ages, dates of birth, charges, sentencing, and the facility the inmate is in.

Inmate information is made public by governmental agencies and third-party websites and organizations. Information provided by third-party organizations may differ from website to website since the government does not sponsor them; however, searching becomes easier since there are no geographical limitations linked to their websites. To gather inmate data on a third-party site, you will be required to provide the name of the inmate, state, county, and city where the inmate resides.
