Idaho Inmate Search

Idaho

The first place to search if you're looking for an inmate in Idaho is the Idaho Department of Corrections or IDOC. It's an entity whose mission includes providing the public, inmates, and staff with safe offender change opportunities through accountable, safe partnerships.

The DOC offers several resources to search for an inmate, including an official offender's search tool, inmate records online searches, and VINELink. On the Idaho Department of Corrections' website, you can access facility resident and IDOC databases, as well as info for sex offenders.

Under the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the 'find an inmate' search engine allows you to search for inmates sent to federal prisons in Idaho. The BOP tool's records date back to 1982 and contain a database of released offenders.

Search parameters for this search engine include names and one of several prisoner identification numbers. These include an inmate's BOP register, INS, FBI, or DCDC number, and standard ID references for offenders who've committed federal crimes.

On the VINELink, America's leading victim notification network, your Idaho offender lookup process is more automated and systemic. However, you have many avenues to search for an inmate with a free account that lets you leverage the provider's services.

Besides an online login to find an inmate in Idaho through VINELink, you can call the service toll-free for reliable and current offender information. That includes updates on their court case and custody status changes, with services available 24/7 throughout the year.

Idaho Inmate Roster

The inmate roster comes in handy when you want to find information on inmates currently incarcerated in an Idaho county, state, or federal prison. The list shows the adult inmates housed at the different facilities overseen by the IDOC, and is updated daily.

For instance, the DOC's official website provides access to a Resident/Client Search for all inmates within its penitentiary circuit. The information available here includes incarceration, parole, or probation details for any individual under its jurisdiction or supervision.

The Idaho inmate roster also provides information or a list of offenses the inmate has committed, and you can search through by name or IDOC number. You can find who's in prison in Idaho if they're serving time by searching the city, county jails, or state prisons.

Inmate records on the Idaho inmate roster are made available to the public in compliance with relevant regulations such as the Idaho Public Records Act or Idaho Public Records Law Manual. That includes all inmates in the 37 county jails, prisons, and out-of-state facilities with whom the IDOC has a contract.

About The Idaho State Department of Corrections

The Idaho State Department of Corrections is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, and is responsible for inmate incarceration within all the city and county jails, plus eleven state correctional facilities. In the seven districts of its jurisdiction, the IDOC oversees 20 parole and probation offices along with four community release centers.

Founded in 1890, the IDOC's mission is for a model system that gives equitable opportunities and programs with a community approach to nurture connections and restore crime victims. The IDOC is responsible for all incarceration and supervision of prisoners, otherwise known as residents and clients.

Another mandate for the IDOC is to maintain inmate records that facilitate your Idaho offender lookup for inmates currently incarcerated, on parole, on probation, or released. The facilities are well spread within the state, but there's also one for holding Idaho prisoners in Arizona.

The IDOC also contracts one private prison company to oversee the Correctional Alternative Placement Program. That's an institution focusing on rehabilitating and treating offenders suffering cognitive impairment, under the Management and Training Corporation.

Major facilities run by the IDOC include the South Boise Prison Complex, which comprises six prison facilities and a community work center. It's located in unincorporated Ada County, Boise, Idaho, and also houses the private-company managed Correctional Alternative Placement Program or CAPP.

Then there's the Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino, situated in a refurbished mental health asylum and state school in Orofino, ID. The North Idaho Correctional Institution near cottonwood butte and the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center are two of the IDOC's significant correctional facilities.
